1. Today I received in the post, an invitation to the Queen's Garden Party at Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh. Not a huge deal for me as I'm not a fan of the royals, but I did if for my wee Nana and so I'm happy for her that we have them! I applied for them through work. You were allowed to apply for 2 tickets, and as I'm not too bothered, I had wanted to get the 2 tickets for my Nana & my Mum, but one of the conditions of applying through my work was that I would have to go. I was worrying about which one of them to take so I asked my mum about it, and she said to go ahead and apply for my Nana. The thing is, once you've applied, you can't change the names, and it must be the person who's name is on the application that goes (you have to bring id). Anyway we got the tickets today, and the big day is 5th July! I actually have to buy a hat for it, is is stated on the invitation, wowee, never bought a proper hat before. I wonder if a fascinator counts?
2. I'm feeling a bit pissed off and I'm not 100% sure why! Will have something to do with work I'm sure. Where I work a lot of us are in little teams of 2, doing long hours together, and you become really close. I worked with GM for 2 years and together we worked for AI. On Friday there was a huge re-shuffle at work, and now I am no longer working for/with GM or AI :( it was harsh! There was lots of tears on Friday, even from GM. Honestly, if felt like a break-up! So now I am working with GP, for AC. Another G & A! But totally not the same! Bf was part of this re-shuffle and he is finding his new job pretty tough. I know he will be amazing at it, but he is having a baptism of fire and he started work at 08:30 this morning, it's now 21:10 and there's no sign of him so far :(
3. I never realised how much difference a good mousses and blow drying your hair out makes to it! I went to the gym on Saturday and decided to have a shower & wash my hair there, rather than going home first as I usually do. Since I had a huge mirror and some time, I took the chance to properly blow dry my hair. Couldn't believe the volume in it! I use mousse a lot but I don't really put much effort in to the blow drying. I usually just rough dry then straighten (or curl) but I will definitely be be making the effort from now on.
4. One thing that's making me happy is that this week & next week are 4 day weeks :) I have this Friday & Monday off :) plans are seeing friends & family, nail extensions and cinema :) xx
